So, I am here alive in Swaziland. In Mbabane to be specific. It's a pretty big city with malls and what not. Our house is in Elzilwinie or something like that, it sounds like that but I don't think the spelling is right. So the internet is pretty slow, and this is the fastest place to get interent. So I apologize in advance if I don't get many pictures up this semester. I will try my best but they don't have a wireless place as far as I know, so I can't use my computer.
Anyways thank you for your prayers. I made it here safely. Got a warm welcome with signs form Abby and Denise, which was cool. Our house is really neat. I'll try and post pictures up next week of it. We have 4 bedrooms a living/kitchen, and two bathrooms. But currently we have no electricity in the outlets and no running water. So if you guys could be praying that we get both soon. They have been saying they will come since I arrived. But so far nothing.
You guys are probably a bit interested in what is going down for me and the team in Swaziland. We are doing our own ministry sites, we are about a 30 min drive from the actual Swazi team, but we get to see them Friday nights and do a fellowship time together which is awesome. Currently, I have done a bit of exploring around our house and met two older guys who I hope to stay in contact with while I'm here. One being Siabonga (which is Thank You in Siswhatti) and the other Themba. Neat guys who we met when Abby, Denise, Teressa and I were walking down the muddy streets.
Ministy: What it looks like while I'm here. Well, We are basically real missionaries now, or at least that's what it feels like. We are looking right now for contacts that we can intern under. Some of the girls are looking at doing some teaching jobs which would be awesome because that is waht they are gifted at. Michael my only other guy on the team is looking at interning under a youth pastor that we met today, which I will hopefully be co-teaching the jr. high with Chelsea, and we will be working with the church doing a few more things with them. I am currently not sure what I want to do, So if you could keep that in your prayers that would be awesome. I'm kinda feeling like I would like to do hands on ministry. Working alongside guys who build stuff, I am going to talk to a pastor who said that they are going to be building a church, or I also wanted to look into Mechanic apprenticeship or something, somewhere where I would be with a few guys day after day working with my hands alongside of them and seeing where the relationship goes. So we'll see how that works out. We are required to do 20 hours of that internship and then we do intentional minsitry where we would help out with day cares or whatever else to fill our days.
We get up extremely early or at least a few of us have, I got up at 4:45 this morning, so I', suire once jet lag wears off it'll be a bit different. But since we live in a neighborhood and have public transportation to take us places if we need to it feels a lot more like we are here for good. We divide up the day in our own timing, only to have breakfast and dinner together but inbetween the day is ours to go out and see where things go.
My address if you feel so incline to send a letter (WHICH WOULD BE FREAKIN AWESOME) don't send packages cuz they usually get jacked or lost in the process of getting over here
